1st
a) mode means the most occurring, if the modal size is 4 which has 30, the value for x must be <30 and the largest value for that is 29.

b) median means the number in the middle for your set of data. For a size of 100, your middle number would be the (50th+51st)/2. In this case, your 50th and 51st number falls on size 3, hence size 3 is your median.
Eg, a data with 10 entries, 1,1,1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3 the median number would be the (5th+6th)/2 = 2. Your mode would be 2 as it appears 4 times compared to 1,3 having only 3 times.

2a) must be <7, which is 6

2b) in order to make 2-4 be in the middle, the smallest value of p must be 9+1=10
