Since the radius of the circle is 10cm, the length of the square which I have drawn out will be 20cm.
The 4 quadrants in this square will make up one circle with radius 10cm.
Hence, to find the shaded area, find the area of the circle, then subtract this value from the area of the square.
Hope this process helps you find your answer of 86cm^2
