More often than not, part ii is related to part i.
When a question lists parts of a question as i, ii, iii and so on, usually the parts are related. When a question lists parts of a questions as a, b, c and so on, usually the parts are not related (but not all the time though, so you can check from the starting to see whether they are related or not).
