Might want to revise a little on inequalities. This is one of those meant to start you off into the topic, i.e. not a hard one.

Some JCs ask you to multiply throughout by the denominator^2, which I showed by the side.

It's not a method I like, since you end up with the same critical points (in this case x = 1 and x = -1) and also looking out for the same critical regions, with the added risk of ending up writing x >= 1 just because the inequality has >= 0, forgetting that x = 1 is actually in the denominator and therefore cannot be including in the solution set.
