and for part b, area of ABCD = area of triangle ABE + area of rectangle BCDE
area of triangle ABE = 1/2 x 40 x 30
area of BCDE = 30 x 20
area of triangle ABE = 1/2 x 40 x 30
area of BCDE = 30 x 20
