Answer is correct. But if you want some working.
Notice that for the length, there are 6 cubes, and 2 at the ends will touch the side.
Likewise for the height and breadth.
Thus, the total number of cubes not touching the sides is given by
(6-2)*(4-2)*(3-2) = 4*2*1 = 8
