This is the corrected steps..Your error here is that you wrote 8^1/2x which I think is an accidental mistake..While it should be 8^(1/2)x..That's is why you can show it..Hope this helps. :)

Oh sorry.Your error is writing the power as 1/x (reciprocal form) while you miss the 2 as the denominator and your x should be outside.(1/2)x
