8) metre ruler or just a normal ruler is usually parallax error.

For vernier caliper and screwgauge,is zero error. Which you would also need to know how to calculate and account for.

For all kinds of timing measurement,it's usually human reaction time

9) Your eye must be right above the reading to prevent parallax error.

10) You lift/displace the pendulum first, drop/release it. Then count for 20 oscillations,stop timing and calculate the average.
Calculation should always be the last step.
