Essentially an order of operations question.
Brackets come first, followed by multiplication/division, followed by addition/subtraction.
Also, a negative divided by or multiplied by another negative gets you a positive. A positive divided/multiplied by a negative or a negative divided/multiplied by a positive gets you a negative number (or a minus).
