first of all, let me explain why A is incorrect.
In the qn (1st and 2nd statements), both boxes X and Y contain Granite. Only their sizes are different, chippings versus rock.
Since both boxes contain the same type of material i.e. granite, hence the density of granite chipping and density of granite rock are the same, regardless of size.
Therefore, options A and C are incorrect.

Take note that both boxes X and Y are of the same volume/size. This is why big rocks in box X would have more space in-between them, whereas, the small chippings in box Y would have less space in-between them. Hence, more granite mass is packed into Y as compared to box X.
Option B is incorrect.

ans: D

hope this helps.

u r welcome!

do take note:
when reading density qn, always be alert to the material mentioned in the qn.

So as Long as the materials are the same, the density will be equal right?
