How do you get the ×3 and ×8?
for part (a) in order to get the price of a pen, you should cancel off the files in the equation. the common multiple of 3 and 8 is 24, so you multiply it accordingly and eliminate out of the equation. now, you have just the pens to calculate for. :)
part (b) works the same. common multiple of 10 and 7 is 70, so you multiply it across both equation to eliminate the pens.
