"3/7 as many girls as there are boys": let there be 3 units of girls and 7 units of boys,
"64 more boys than girls": we see that there are 4 more units for boys than girls, therefore 4 units = 64 children

In total, we have 10 units.

4 units = 64 children
1 unit = 16 children
Hence, 10 units (total) = 160 children
