You need to remember / understand these 2 identities:
(1) sin x / cos x = tan x
(2) sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1
The other 2 identities can be derived from the above 2 identies:
(3) 1 + cot^2 x = cosec^2 x
(4) tan^2 x + 1 = sec^2 x
(1) sin x / cos x = tan x
(2) sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1
The other 2 identities can be derived from the above 2 identies:
(3) 1 + cot^2 x = cosec^2 x
(4) tan^2 x + 1 = sec^2 x
