The total resistance is 4000N. The question stated that 1/4 of the resistance is experienced by the trailer. Therefore, I multiplied 4000 with 1/4 to find the friction experienced by the trailer. Since it is travelling at uniform speed, forward equal to opposing force so 1000N friction Nedd 1000N forward to give 0N net force. Net F=ma, zero acceleration meant no net force.
