The total percentage in a pie chart is 100%.
• Firstly convert the fraction (1/8) into a percentage.
• Subtract all the percentages from 100% to find out what percentage the pupils who like Chicken Rice occupy.
• Since the question gives that Chicken Rice has 54 pupils use that.
18% = 54
1% = 54 ÷ 18 = 3
100% = 3 × 100 = 300
• Calculate 100% to find total number of pupils
