To form all possible factors of 123456:
First start with 1,
then we can choose to multiply by 2 0-6 times,
by 3 0 or 1 times,
by 643 0 or 1 times.

Which gives 7x2x2.
But this includes the case where none of the prime factors are used and where all of them are used, so subtract 2 to get the final answer
