Let your units be the number of legs.

Cows (4u)
Duck (2u)

Total units for cows -> 3x4u = 12u
Total units for ducks -> 8x2u=16u
Total units ->12u+16u= 28u
Total number of legs -> 28u = 252 legs
1u= 252 / 28 = 9

Total number of legs for ducks -> 16u=16x9 =144legs
One duck has 2u -> 144 / 2 = 72 ducks

There are 72 ducks.

Pls do your own checking on your calculator. Now, cows have 108 legs. Go back to the question
