Since Mrs lien eats (1/8) of the cake, the remainder of the cake will be 1-(1/8)=7/8
If Mrs lien gives away 2/7 of the remainder, the amount of cake she gives away will be (2/7)x(7/8)=2/8 The amount of cake that will be left will be (7/8)-(2/8)=5/8
If Mrs lien gives away 2/7 of the remainder, the amount of cake she gives away will be (2/7)x(7/8)=2/8 The amount of cake that will be left will be (7/8)-(2/8)=5/8
