Convert the cost to the pants equivalent:

1 shirt = Cost of 4 pairs of shorts
5 shirts = Cost of 20 pairs of shorts

20 + 8 = 28 pairs of shorts
28 pairs of shorts = $336
1 pairs of shorts = $12

The cost of a shirt is 4 times the cost of a pair of shorts, therefore a shirt cost $12x4=$48
