The expression for Nth term is 2(n-1) +3. (n-1) as the increase of 2 matchstick only start when n=2. (n-1) is times 2 because every time n increase by 1, the number of matchsticks increase by 2 constantly. +3 as when n=1, number of matchsticks to begin with is 3, which is also a constant. :)
