How does it spread the load? Bothe the cars and lorries could still be concentrated at one end
Generally speaking, lorries are heavier than cars (here cars are referring to those vehicles like Toyota sedans). Having cars in between lorries force lorries to be further apart, so you don't get this lorries all clustered together on 1 section of the bridge.
