Steps to think through:
1. How long does it take for the hour hand to move from 6 to 7 (or, in fact, 1 to 2, 4 to 5, 12 to 1, etc)?
Answer: 1 hour
2. Where is the position of the hour hand now?
Answer: Exactly in the middle of 6 and 7
3. How many minutes have passed?
Answer: Half of 1 hour, which means 30 minutes (Remember, the minute hand goes around the entire clock once per hour/ 60 minutes)
4. Where should the minute hand be?
Answer: Half-way through the entire clock, i.e. on the 30 minutes/ half an hour mark. This can be represented as per the image above.

Note: It does not matter if the hour hand is between 6 and 7, or any other numbers. What is important is the relative position of the hand between the two numbers. In this case, when it is at the midpoint, 30 minutes have passed.
Further: When it is at the point marked X, 1/5×60 = 12 minutes have passed. When it is at the point marked Y, 3/5×60 = 36 minutes have passed.
Try to figure out where the minute hand will be when 12 and 36 minutes have passed respectively :)
