After you minus off the 6 sweets for the 2 extra boys you now have equal number of boys and girls sharing 62 - 6 = 56 sweets.
1 boy and 1 girl are given 3 + 4 = 7 sweets
56 / 7 = 8 pairs of boys and girls
Number of girls = 8
