How come the father age is 3x
Is not 1/3x?
There is no father? Joseph's age is 1/3 of his sister Jolin. Another way to say this is: Jolin is three times of Joseph's age. Jolin age = three times of Joseph = 3x.
Of course, you can do another way via the 1/3 way instead, whereby 1/3 (jolin's age) = Joseph's age. However, you will run into fractions that can lead to a higher chance of mistakes. So, to make things less complicated (by making all of the algebra whole numbers), I chose to times three of Joseph's age.
Hope this clarifies everything! ;))
