For part A, it can be solved with the model diagram. 9 units total for $339.30, finding the price of first washing machine (5 units) and second washing machine (4 units) will not be a problem.
For part B, once you figure out the discounted price of the first washing machine to be $188.50, you will realise that after the 35% discount, it costs $188.50. So when you know how much the second washing machine cost, $150.80, you can figure out the percentage of discount of the second washing machine.
