Average means to sum up all the numbers, then divide by the number of numbers. E.g. Average of 0, 2, 10 = (0+2+10) ÷ 3
So average of 17 and 28 = (17+28) ÷ 2
= 45 ÷ 2 = 22.5
So average of 17 and 28 = (17+28) ÷ 2
= 45 ÷ 2 = 22.5
