The diagram is a little misleading, so lets look at the facts instead.
The bottom tank is cubical, means it is in a shape of a cube, so we know the all sides is 40cm.
This way we know the volume of the bottom tank is 40cmx40cmx40cm
Or 64000ml or 64 Litres.
From this, we find the tap flow rate at 6.5L per minute for 12 mins.
This gives us a total of 78Litres that flowed into the tank.
Take 78L-64L and we will get the answer of how much was in the rectangular tube.
