Hi Edmund,

The money is divided equally into 4 parts and 3 parts are used altogether in the 7 days.

It is not possible to get whole number when we divide 3 parts by 7 days.

Therefore, I let 1 part = 7 units.
So, 3 parts = 21 units.
Then, 21 units can be divided by 7 nicely to find how many units of money are used in each day.
