Not sure if you are comfortable with algebra so there are 2 possible methods shown here

thank you once again!! :”) may i ask why do we have to divide by 3?

So every box would have a difference of 3.

1box --> 3 lolipops
2boxes --> 6 lolipops

And so on. So if we know the difference in number of lolipops, we can divide it by 3 to get the number of boxes. (Of course this is all excluding the last box).

Hope this is clearer. If its not feel free to ask follow up questions.

ooo i understand better now, appreciate the clarification!! :”) so we +1 afterwards to account for the last box in case 2? / for algebra, i’m a little confused on why’s it 4x+32= *7x-4* instead of 7x-3? :”)

Yup we plus 1 to account for the last box

For the algebra since the last box has 3 lolipops, we are short 4 lolipops. Hence its minus 4 not minus 3.
