Since the number of green marbles is 2/7 , we can say that number of green marbles is 2 unit , and the total number of marbles is 7 unit.
Since there is 42 more red marbles than green marbles , the number of red marbles would be
2 unit + 42 .
Since the remaining are blue marbles , the number of blue marbles would be 174.
So we can put the numbers together , which will form the equation that I highlighted.
Hope this helps!
