Let initial amount of money Irene has be $x.

After spending $150, she's left with $(x-150). Then, she spent 2/3 of her remaining amount of money (left with 1/3), so she's left with:
1/3 × (x - 150) = x/3 - 50
This is 1/5 of her initial amount of money (which is $x), so:
x/3 - 50 = x/5
x/3 - x/5 = 50
(5x - 3x) / 15 = 50
2x = 750
x = 375

Irene has $375 initially.
