He used 1/10 of the paint. So he left 1-1/10=9/10 of the paint. That means he left 9 out of 10 units of paint
10 units=8 litres
1 unit=0.8 litres (or 4/5)
9 units=7.2 litres (or 36/5 for improper fraction or 7(1/5) for proper fraction)
