there is a printing mistake in the question. from the sketch, the region between curve c and the line is in the 3rd quadrant, where y>0 instead of y<0.
(the actual question in the original exam paper only gives x<0, no mention of y)
for any volume formed that involves a straight line, can just calculate as volume of cone or cylinder, instead of integrating.
when the question ask for exact area, can & should still use GC to verify the final answer.
