Part a, for them to meet when they run in opposite directions, the total distance covered would have to be the whole track (2400m)

Part b, for them to meet at the starting point, both of them have to complete the 2400 at the same time. (Since Samuel complete in 12, Calvin complete in 24, find the lowest common multiple would mean the time they complete together)
