Important concepts for solving equations/inequalities.
1. do not cancel terms with unknowns. doing so may result in obtaining less solutions than there actually are.
2. if original equation has terms that may have possible restrictions on values, have to check each solution to see if it is a valid solution.
verify that both x=2 and x=-2 satisfy the original equation.
