log y can be negative value, so taking square root of both sides, should write as ...
log y = +or- ( (log 16)/3)
y = 10^((log 16)/3) or 10^(-(log 16)/3)
y = 2.5198421 or 0.396850263

verify that both values satisfy the given equation.
