can I ask about part d ? why is it when x is > -2 and not like y ?

cause they are asking about the range values of X. not asking about y values. if you use your ruler to trace the tangent to see the positive gradients. it begins at the min point X=-2 and slowly move to the right of the curve, can try to visualise
