For part (i), if you are not familiar with the general shape of the curve, you will have to find intercepts, stationary points and asymptotes if any. Then observe how the curve behaves near positive and negative infinity and near the asymptotes. I recommend you know the shapes of some of the basic curves and the rest is a matter of scaling and shifting.
