Let the number of students originally before help comes be x
Amount raised before help comes
= $175 × x
= $175x
No. of students after help comes
= x + 15
Amount raised after help comes
= $163 × (x + 15)
= $(163x + 2445)
Therefore, by taking the difference, it must be equal to $2025:
(163x + 2445) - 175x = 2025
-12x = -420
x = 35
Total no. of students (since total includes the students that came to help)
= 35 + 15
= 50 (Answer)
