Ratio of shirts to buttons
= 2 : 13
= 1 : 6.5
On average of 50% are 5 buttons and 50% are 7 buttons, the ratio of shirts to buttons should be 1 : 6 (since 50% × 5 + 50% × 7 = 6). So how do you get 1 : 6.5? There must be 75% of the shirts that are 7 buttons as 25% × 5 + 75% × 7 = 6.5 and thus the ans is (d).
