Teacher, I don’t understand the fraction part. Is it a must to do by fraction as in using $3/4 and $7/6 to get per cookie and per muffin cost?

Also I cannot understand the part on difference in cost of a muffin and a cookie to get $5/12 then this value x (number) = $45.
