PhysChemTutor's answer to huixian's International Baccalaureatte Further Maths HL Singapore question.
Hello, could you help to explain abit more on a and b? Not too sure of the workings that you have provided.
a, b, c are all similar concept. a) If you have three persons is the room of different birthday. the first person could be any 365 out of 365 days, the second person can only be any of the the remaining 364 days out of 365days, the third person can only be any of the 363days out of 365. Together it is 365P3 / cube of 365... Let me know if you still do not know.
so in the workings you have written, the final answer is 365p3/cube of 365? Even though the question states to find the value of P? Sorry, abit confused on this as I had just learnt about this topic recently.
365P3 P stands for permutation. It is not probability
