This is a question of similar triangles and ratios.

Remember that if two triangles are similar the ratio of their sides will remain the same.

Because the area of triangle is calculated using 2 sides, area ratio will be the square of the side ratio.

Note that although 3 sides are used to calculate volume (base, height, depth), only 2 sides are in ratio (depth does not change in this case), so volume is in the same ratio as area.

For part ii, graph, note that volume is increasing exponentially, but rate of water is constant. Graph is a flattened curve. I have left out the two points of reference (fully filled at 12s and the point we calculated at part i) on purpose, use it to practice. You need to put in those.
