The intersection point is a point where the two curves meet, so equation of the two curves must be equal to one another as shown in the picture.
Area bounded by the two curve and the y axis is represented by A1 in the working shown. To find A1, subtract the area A2 from area A3 as shown in the photo. Apply integral of y=e^x to find the area. Hope it helps!
