Let x be the amount in account B
=> account A has 3x in value.

Amount transferred from A & B
= 0.1*x + 0.1 * 3x
= 0.4x

Amount added to Account C
= 40%/140% * 2400
= 4800/7

Equate both:
0.4x = 4800/7
Hence amount in A
= 3x
= 4800/7 * (3/0.4)
= $ 5142.86 (to 2dp)
