This tests on binomial expansion, and knowing how to take the most relevant terms out. Since the first part only need terms up to the quadratic term, we just expand those terms that are necessary. For the second part, we see the x to the power of 7 is only created when the x^5 is multiplied with 4x^2, hence, that is the only possible coefficient available.
