Let's say there are "X" children altogether.
If each child gets 6 sweets, total number of sweets equals to 6X +2.
If each child gets 2 sweets, total number of sweets equals to 2X +18.
So, 6X +2 = 2X +18.
6X - 2X = 18 - 2
4X = 16
X = 16/4
X = 4
a) 4 children altogther
b) 6X + 2 = 6*4 + 2 = 24 + 2 = 26
