Let AB be 2x.
Total area = (2x)^2 = 4x^2
Unshaded area = 0.5 x 2x(x) x 2 (because 2 triangles) + x^2 = 3x^2
Thus shaded area = x^2
Fraction = 1/4
Total area = (2x)^2 = 4x^2
Unshaded area = 0.5 x 2x(x) x 2 (because 2 triangles) + x^2 = 3x^2
Thus shaded area = x^2
Fraction = 1/4
