Can you please show me the step by step to solve this problem?
① Every 40 keychains can grouped into a set/group.
Amount earned from each group of 40 key chains
= $0.50 per keychain × 40 keychains + $12 for the bonus of every group of keychains
= $20 + $12
= $32
② To earn $260, we want to find out how many groups we can get the bonus for.
$260 ÷ $32 = 8 R $4
So we can get a maximum of 8 groups of 40 keychains. This means that there are 8 bonuses of $12.
For the remaining $ earned, there aren't enough keychains here to make up 40 to earn the bonus.
③ Number of keychains needed to make $4
= $4 ÷ $0.50 per keychain
= 8 keychains
④ Total number of keychains she has to make
= 8 + 40 × 8 (those 8 groups of 40)
= 8 + 320
= 328
