Richard earns: x
Andy earns: x + 16
Richard saves: x - 48
Andy saves: x + 16 - 48 = x - 32
The difference between their weekly savings = 16
Since the current given difference between their savings is 144 - 64 = 80, the number of weeks will be (80/16) = 5 weeks.
Answer for part (i) is 5 weeks.
